How long does the battery last?

The rechargeable lithium-ion battery was designed to last 10-11 hrs. Your performance will vary but generally a full charge should last an entire day.

How do I know when the battery is low?

When the battery reaches a level where proper operation is no longer possible, the light on the controller will continuously flash red and the buzzers will cease to function.

How can you tell which side (right or left) the buzzer belongs on?

The black molded buzzers are labeled “L” and “R”. When the red (green) light on the controller is on, the right (left) buzzer comes on.

Can the system be machine washed?

The controller is not waterproof. To clean the controller, gently wipe it with a damp rag. Do not submerge or drench it in water or any other liquid. Do not use alcohol or other solvents to clean it. This will damage the plastic enclosure. If there is dust or dirt in any of the connectors, you may use a can of compressed air generally meant for cleaning electronics or computer keyboards to blow it clean.

The sensor pad is water-resistant and can be cleaned with a damp sponge or by gently scrubbing with a stiff brush and some slightly soapy water. Do not machine wash or dry. Hang it up and allow it to air dry. Do not wring it out or fold it. You may place it flat between two towels and press it dry. If there is any dust or dirt in the connector, you may use a can of compressed air to blow it clean.

Once the sensor pad and controller are removed, the short breeches may be hand or machine washed and dried on gentle cycle.

Does it make a noise that could possibly spook a horse?

The two buzzers (vibrating motors) that provide feedback are exactly what you’d find in a smartphone on vibrate mode. They are slightly audible. If you’re used to having your cell phone with you when you ride, you should be okay. We’ve not heard of an adverse reaction from any animal ridden using the device but, of course, we advise caution when first introducing it.
